Harland Machine Systems visited by Rt. Hon. Hazel Blears

The Right Honourable Hazel Blears, Labour MP for Salford and Eccles, recently visited award winning Salford manufacturing company, Harland Machine Systems, to congratulate them on reaching 40 successful years in business. During the visit she spoke to many team members including the "very inspirational" Carlton Moseley, a local man who started at Harland as an apprentice and worked his way up through the ranks and is now a fully qualified Service Engineer responsible for production machines for many large Blue-Chip organisations both in the UK and Overseas.

At the other end of the scale is Ray Rigby, a Wireman, who is in his retirement year after 27 years at the business. "This is typical of what I have seen today." said Hazel,  "Many of the team have long service, and it's refreshing to see the succession planning with the younger members of the team coming through. It's particularly pleasing for me that they come from the local area and are being trained to a high standard."

David Latham, Global Sales Director of Harland, thanked Hazel for the visit. "We know that Hazel is very active in our area and we share her vision in making Salford a positive place for business. We have some great members of our team here, who help make us a successful business, most of them from the local area."
